ABOUT US

A consulting company with the knowledge and experience of how to create or improve cardiac CT programs efficiency, quality, and growth.

OUR Experience

We have built robust cardiac CT programs with growth of CCTA volumes by 3000% while increasing diagnostic quality and program profitability. One of our cardiac CT programs became top 5 busiest in US and improved efficiencies and resource utilization and long-term outcome in patients with coronary artery disease. We realized that time and resources in healthcare are limited and demands for new technologies are growing.

With change to the chest pain guidelines in 2021 the paradigm for testing and reimbursement has changed dramatically and many hospital systems are in urgent need for developing cardiac CT programs or improving their quality and efficiency. Developing efficient programs allows hospitals to provide guideline directed care that aids in patient retention.

We can share our knowledge and experience that can make other cardiac CT programs more efficient and profitable faster and more competitive in today’s healthcare market.

Meet The Team

Katarina Nelson, MD,

FACC, FSCCT, FSCMR, FASE, FASNC

Chief Medical Officer, Co-Founder

Non-invasive cardiologist who specializes in a wide range of cardiovascular imaging. After finishing her general cardiology fellowship at the University of Miami she pursued 2-year fellowship in advanced cardiovascular imaging at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard University in Boston with focus on cardiac CT, MRI, SPECT/PET nuclear imaging, echocardiography, and vascular ultrasound. As a director of CV Imaging at Moses Cone Hospital, she built a robust cardiac CT program that was an early adopter of CT FFR technology and eventually became 5th busiest program in the nation using CT FFR in CAD diagnostics and therapy guidance. She also developed stress MRI and PYP amyloid scanning at the Moses Cone Hospital. Her main interest is CT First in evaluation of chest pain, prevention and management of coronary artery disease, and women and heart disease. She currently works as a cardiologist at Centura Health in CO.

Dr Nelson teaches and has been invited to speak at the regional and national conferences; she was a site Principal Investigator on the RevealPlaque Trial. She has published articles and book chapters and her work has been cited 300+ times.

Sheryl Booth, R.T. (R), MHA

Chief Executive Officer, Founder

Serving as chief operating officer of Pulse Imaging Consultants. Sheryl Booth has developed her expertise of program development and optimization through years of leading nationally recognized heart and vascular services. Her background as CT and Cardiac Cath Lab technologists provides clinical skills and business knowledge of heart and vascular services. This knowledge allows her to work along with clinical teams and administrators in developing programs that best support workflow efficiencies and quality outcomes. Her skillset allows her to take a program from vision to operational or from challenged to highly productive. She uses her leadership skills and knowledge to guide the teams through development, implementation, and optimization. She has a proven track record of being an early adopter of patient care concepts and building programs that provide optimal guideline directed care. Her ability to create highly successful programs has led to requests from national programs such as HeartFlow, Heart Rhythm Society, and Biosense Webster for insights on disease specific cardiac program development. She has spoken nationally on the development of cardiac services. The coronary CT program she leads was most recently highlighted in a national SCCT webinar for learning on “implementing a scalable, guideline directed coronary CTA program”.

Sheryl currently works as the executive director for Heart and Vascular services and continues to focus on coronary CTA program expansion and new technologies. Her goal with Pulse is to help other programs develop successful coronary CTA programs which support early cardiac diagnostics and patient care as well as prevention and guideline directed patient care strategies.
